Notenik

I try different apps for markdown note-taking, and I recently tried Notenik.app. At the time, it didn't fit my needs, so I removed it from the list. The author noticed my git changelog and sent me a kind email asking what I would change about it.

Since then Herb has made a number of changes to Notenik:

• Supports #tag style tags
• Supports YAML style metadata
• Creation of unlinked notes is now optional

Notenik is a neat application. It seems very personal to the author, and very powerful… and is now fully compatible with the Simple Markdown Zettelkasten style that I like, so it's on the list! If you prefer a more GUI-centric app, with powerful metadata features, live preview, reports and more, give Notenik a try.
