And this is exactly what product designers do to your mind. They play your psychological vulnerabilities (consciously and unconsciously) against you in the race to grab your attention.
As a UX practictioner, this was a good challenge to my thinking of how I construct choice architectures... just by copying some UI from another product I can be continuing a dark pattern.
